This role serves as the primary technical resource for industrial controls, electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation while partnering closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve overall production performance.</p><p><br></p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex automation challenges, improving manufacturing processes, and supporting state-of-the-art production equipment.</p><p><br></p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p><br></p><p>Automation & Controls</p><p><br></p><p>• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automated production systems</p><p>• Diagnose HMI, SCADA, and industrial communication networks</p><p>• Monitor PLC logic and perform approved troubleshooting and minor programming modifications when necessary</p><p>• Support servo systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), robotics, vision systems, and motion control equipment</p><p>• Troubleshoot machine communication networks and integrated control systems</p><p>• Maintain and validate machine safety systems including safety PLCs, safety relays, and guarding circuits</p><p><br></p><p>Electrical & Instrumentation</p><p><br></p><p>• Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices</p><p>• Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems up to 480V</p><p>• Maintain motor control centers (MCCs), electrical panels, sensors, and field devices</p><p>• Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and one-line drawings</p><p>• Utilize diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, infrared cameras, and power analyzers</p><p>• Maintain accurate electrical documentation and drawings</p><p><br></p><p>Reliability & Continuous Improvement</p><p><br></p><p>• Analyze equipment alarms, downtime, and performance trends</p><p>• Lead or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities</p><p>• Improve equipment uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)</p><p>• Utilize CMMS software to support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies</p><p>• Recommend and implement automation improvements that increase equipment reliability and production efficiency</p><p>• Support equipment upgrades, capital projects, commissioning, and startup activities</p><p>• Develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting documentation</p><p><br></p><p>Leadership & Collaboration</p><p><br></p><p>• Serve as the controls and automation subject matter expert</p><p>• Mentor maintenance technicians in electrical and controls troubleshooting</p><p>• Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve equipment performance and production reliability</p><p>• Support cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives</p><p><br></p><p>Safety & Compliance</p><p><br></p><p>• Follow all electrical safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures</p><p>• Maintain compliance with GMP and quality system requirements</p><p>• Promote a safe work environment</p><p>• Immediately address equipment or process conditions that may impact employee safety or product quality</p><p>• Participate in planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities</p><p><br></p><p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p><p><br></p><p>• High school diploma or GED required</p><p>• Technical degree or certification in Electrical Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Controls, or a related field preferred</p><p>• Five or more years of industrial controls, PLC, automation, or instrumentation experience</p><p>• Advanced troubleshooting experience with PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment</p><p>• Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC platforms</p><p>• Working knowledge of industrial communication networks including EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet</p><p>• Experience with servo systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), industrial instrumentation, and motion control</p><p>• Ability to troubleshoot integrated manufacturing systems</p><p>• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis skills</p><p>• Experience supporting highly automated manufacturing operations</p><p>• Experience within food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred</p><p>• Knowledge of GMPs and quality systems preferred</p><p>• ISA certification or equivalent automation certification is a plus</p><p>• Excellent communication and collaboration skills</p><p><br></p><p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p><p><br></p><p>• Lift up to 50 pounds</p><p>• Stand and walk for extended periods</p><p>• Frequently bend, reach, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces</p><p>• Work around automated manufacturing equipment</p><p>• Work in varying temperatures and moderate industrial noise</p><p>•
