Our aircraft require more than a pilot to safely complete missions. It’s our Special Missions Aviators who are responsible for covering preflight inspection and the placement and delivery of all cargo on board. They take on various roles, including monitoring all aircraft functions and aiding weapons defense when needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform in-flight maintenance of weapons systems and equipment.
- Determine passenger, cargo, fuel, and emergency and special equipment distribution and weight.
- Organize and direct Special Missions aviation activities.
- Complete preflight inspection of aircraft and related equipment.
- Operate and monitor engine and aircraft systems controls and indicators.

Qualifications
This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air National Guard. The application is for a specific position within the Air National Guard.
- High school diploma or GED with 15 college credits
- Mechanical; Electronics ASVAB requirements
- Completion of the Aircrew Fundamentals Course
- Normal depth perception
- Must maintain physical qualification for aircrew duty
- Must maintain eligibility to deploy and mobilize worldwide
- Height must be no less than 64 inches or more than 77 inches
- Completion of a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 39
