Pharmacy Technician (PrimeRx Experience Preferred) RVA

Position Overview:

Remedies Pharmacy is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician with experience using PrimeRx pharmacy software. The ideal candidate will assist with prescription processing, refill management, insurance-related tasks, and communication with healthcare providers to ensure patients receive timely and accurate service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter and process prescription information accurately in PrimeRx
• Manage and process automatic prescription refills for patients
• Contact physicians' offices to obtain prior authorizations and prescription approvals
• Verify prescription information and ensure compliance with pharmacy procedures
• Assist pharmacists with prescription workflow and patient support
• Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Resolve prescription-related issues and follow up on pending requests
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
• Support daily pharmacy operations and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

• Previous Pharmacy Technician experience required
• Experience using PrimeRx pharmacy software strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience handling prior authorizations and insurance-related pharmacy processes is a plus
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and prescription workflow
